The reported incidents took place at Marsden State High School in Waterford West, where students claim the teacher regularly engages in feline-like mannerisms, including wearing a black and white cat ear headband in class and during school assemblies.

A relative of one student alleged that the teacher hissed at them after they failed to answer a question or pay attention in class.

“(The teacher) sits in class and licks her hands,” the relative reported. “It’s absolutely disgusting. Something needs to be done about this.”

Parental Concerns

Another parent expressed concern over the role model the teacher presented, stating that students should have teachers they can “look up to,” adding, “which isn’t someone who wears ears.”

School and Department Response
